Whole School Year 5 Year 6

9 February 2016

Today Year 5 & 6 celebrated Safer Internet Day today to help make a kinder online community.

In ICT lessons we talked about some of the advantages and disadvantages of the internet. We also discussed how we could stay safe and what to do if we were worried about anything online. Mr Mc Auley also explained how to report inappropriate comments and images online. Finally we watched a video about top tips on how to stay safe online.

The national event, launched by the UK Safer Internet Centre, is set to be bigger than ever with 2.1m people taking part.

Recent statistics have shown that four in five young people from the South East have seen or heard online hate targeted at a certain group in the last year.

Nearly three quarters of children in the South East also say that online hate makes them more careful about what they share online.
